The CTSI T1/T2 Accelerator Voucher Program

Under this RFA, (previously known as the Core Voucher Program) will award vouchers worth up to $10,000 in core services to investigators with a faculty appointment at a CTSI partner institution (UCLA Westwood, Cedars-Sinai, The Lundquist Institute for Biomedical Innovation at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center, and Charles R. Drew University).

The Voucher Program provides the infrastructure to translate scientific discoveries into innovations that improve health in Los Angeles and the nation. To achieve its mission and advance translational research, the CTSI T1/T2 Accelerator Program periodically awards vouchers worth up to $10K to defray the cost of core services. Previous voucher recipients may apply only if a different proposal is being submitted. Professional researchers, project scientists, research scientists, postdoctoral fellows, and graduate students are eligible to apply as a Co-Investigator with a faculty mentor.

Deadlines: applications open yearly around March-April.

CTSI Clinical and Translational Research Voucher Program

The research voucher program provides the infrastructure to translate scientific discoveries into innovations to improve health in Los Angeles County and the nation. Under the Clinical and Translational Research Voucher Program, the CTSI will award vouchers for services worth up to $10,000 for TLI CTSI cores only (max $5,000 per core). Each award is limited to TLI investigators, and voucher funds and services apply one calendar year.

Program highlights and eligibility:

  • The voucher can be used for the following CTSI services: nursing, bionutrition, DEXA, Biomedical Informatics, Study Design, and Biostatistical Analyses; consultation with the Community Engagement Research Core; and consultation on Special Populations.
  • Junior faculty (within 5 years of their academic appointment) will receive priority consideration.
  • A voucher award may not be requested for services for which funding is already available or awarded through another agency.
  • Only projects that can be completed within the 12 months following the award will be considered.

Applications open twice a year in February and August.
